I saw you looking up at me
When I was driving by
You looked at me and I think you said
Please give me a hug and wipe my eye.
Your hair I noticed is such a mess
It hangs down in your face
Has someone left you behind
To fight this human race?
I pulled my car over and shut it off
I opened my door and walked towards you
I don’t know if I’m doing right or wrong
But I have to do what I must do.
I held out my hand and bent so low
You didn’t back off or seem afraid
You came closer to me being a little shy
Please trust me now don’t walk a way.
I went back to the car and got a blanket
I brought it to you and you let me wrap you up
I carried you gently and placed you on the seat
You sat very still you didn’t even fuss.
I’m taking you home with me today
I will clean you up and wash your hair
I have been praying for some companionship
I think you and I can connect and share.
Once inside the house I put you down
You looked around but didn’t stray
I found you some food and I hope you will eat
What a good job you did there’s none to throw a way.
A bath I am giving you now you smell so good
I combed out your hair and you sat very still
I see your eyes follow me where ever I go
And now you are sitting on my lap at your own will.
I am so thankful that I passed your way
I realize I needed you more than I knew
The Lord answered my prayer of a companion today
I love you my new friend, you are my dog named Boo.

Is this a reality story or fiction? It would be so perfect if god sent you a dog!
no it is not true, but i wish it was. the perfect dog has not come my way. calm, loving mature
Before we were graced with our current pup, I used to keep dog treats, a blanket, and a leash in the car. Just in case. I heard so many stories of people who met their dog on the side of the road. We also volunteered to transport for rescue, but never fell in love. But the word got out that we were looking, and one day a rescue called and said they found the perfect dog for us!
awesome news!!!!!!

Hi Jenna, I have nominated you for the Super Sweet Blogging Award
Awe! Thank you!! That’s so nice of you!!
you are very welcome!
Speaking of doggies, how is your lil doggie doing?
ivonne
because of the huge difficulty with Al and his walking, he did not want to come home because he was afraid of the pup making him fall, so a family member has him. I would love to have a calm, loving, mature dog for a companion
lol, they only become calm and mature when they are mature–yours is just a puppy–it takes a few years. Well, you can always rescue and older dog from the pound–they make awesome pets and are so happy to be rescued!!!!!
Ivonne, I have nominated you for the Super Sweet Blogging Award, cuz you are so sweet in my eyes
this is what i am hoping for!
Is this true?
no but i wish it was, i need a mature dog in my life who isn’t bouncing off the walls and tripping me and Al when he is here on a visit
Cute.
thanks Diane. hope you had a good day
Diane, here is a nomination for you because you are super sweet to me. The super sweet blogging award

thank you very much. I went directly to your page, but twice it said not found. I am sorry
*sniff-sniff* What a heart-warming story in the form of a poem. I’ll say it again, you should make these into children’s story books.
Sara, I have nominated you for the very inspiring blogging award
Wow, thanks… I’m honoured, although there are probably far more worthier candidates than myself. But I do thank you from the bottom of my heart.
never under estimate the power of your words that may help another soul at the very moment. You are very rewarding in my eyes. Please accept and enjoy
I have never thought about children’s books, but an idea to ponder on. thank you Sara
Terry, I have been thinking you should gather your poems together into a book.
really? I never thought of that, do u think they are good enough for a book full?
Yes, I think they are. Some may need just a little “tweeking” but for the most part I think they would be just fine. If the design of the book was right, it could be just the thing to work on once “Dahlia” is ready to publish. I’ll talk to you more about it next time I call.
that would be wonderful Diane. i will be looking forward to that conversation. Poetry is something that comes very easy to me
Awwwww, this is lovely Terry

It is such a sweet poem and can speak for all the dogs we ever had. I am sorry you had to give up your little dog, but at least you can see him anytime you want. Blessings!
thank you. dogs are man’s best friend. I need a more mature and gentle dog
puppies are a handful that is for sure, we found out that hard way, it took 3 yrs for them to calm down…
that is too long for me. I am too old I think! lol
that is what we found out!!
because I think so highly of you as a person, I had to nominate you for the One Lovely Blogging award!
Terry that is so sweet, I am getting ready to accept my awards and bless you heart for adding another one. Terry, it is a blessing as I get to know you.
I think you are a pretty amazing and compassionate lady. it is a blessing to call you my friend
Terry, lovely written … what happen to Polly ???? You should get a mature dog from the dog shelter and not a puppy that needs all the caring and looking after. I think a mature dog will be great company for you.
you are right. i have my eyes and ears open for a more mature dog
There is 100 of dogs .. at shelters – you should always chose the dog that chose you – never walk up to the dog … let him walk up to you – then he has picked you.
what a fabulous idea!!!! thanks Viveka!!! You are so smart
