Best Moment Award

This award makes me feel all warm and cuddly inside. It is a real honor to receive this. Someone, somewhere has read one of my post and now I know that it gave them a “Best Moment” for that time.

When I started blogging I never knew that there would be a day when I would receive an award. In fact, I hesitated about blogging because I didn’t think anyone would like what I wrote.

I can still remember it so clear. I had prayed for months for something to do that would not only help me, but to help others. I prayed to feel worthy while caring for my brother since my outside world was pretty narrow at the time.

God whispered to me for a few days before I wrote that first word. He is an amazing God. He knew that I needed to do this. My lack of being out in public where other humans walked was replaced by hundreds of good friends. Not just any friends, but friends who had heart and compassion and didn’t judge me.

My writing has helped to heal me. I have been able to speak of things from my past and learn to accept what we wish never happened. I have been guided by many in the right direction when it comes to my brother.  I feel like I have a host of angels watching over me and praying for Al and myself.

I get shivers even now as I sit here and think of the miracles I have received over the past year. What a blessing all of you have been in my life. Thank- you to each and every one .

Lipstick and Chaos has nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Here is a little bit about her if you have not visited her blog.

Life in our household is always an adventure of cyclonic magnitudes. It’s a titanic shift of highs and lows, volume increasing and sanity fleeing. I live and I feel and I do most of it out loud. I believe that in sharing life’s adventures, it lets the rest of the world know that they indeed are not losing their mind and their child is not the only one masquerading around like a tie-dyed protegé in a pool of raging hormones. If only one thing I say is relatable to another life, then I have indeed succeeded in saving yet one more piece of shattered sanity.

So sit back and laugh, cry or read in disbelief. It is my hope to present to you that while life is crazy and busy and chaotic, there is a bit of sense to it.

There is an art to making it look easy while still having time to apply lipstick!

7 Things About Me –

When I was little I swore that I was going to be a horse when I grew up.

I create artwork out of pieces of bone, sticks, broken glass, rusty nails and pretty much any other interesting objects I find on outdoor journeys.

If I don’t get a new tattoo soon I am likely to go insane from the itch.

I got married to Steve while wearing a black T-shirt with two skeletons have sex that says, “Love Never Dies” and a baseball cap that reads, “Bitch”. (Yes, I married a freaking prince, I know!)

I once moved to California with everything I owned in 3 suitcases and with only $20 in my pocket.

I failed ceramics in high school.

On my 5^th birthday, I got a card from the Gremlins that lived under our house. True Story.

This blog and my music blog here at WP have never received an award, so I am very honored.

The many lines that flow in this award remind me of how I love my life to blend on this earth. I like peace and easy going. Quiet times and a movie.

If it isn’t a love and romance or could actually happen in my life time, I don’t watch it. I am a mushy person. I like lots of kisses, and love and compassion in my shows. I love watching movies that have to do with disabled kids and adults. One of my favorite movies on this is Rain Man. Just love it so much!

It is just like today. I took my brother out. Every street was busy with traffic. When we went to eat there were families with kids all over the place. It kept Al entertained watching the kids. It was alright for me. I don’t do as well with little tykes as I used to when I was younger. The noise and constant movement tend to get on my nerves. When I dropped Al back off and was almost to my driveway, my body started to relax because I knew I was pulling into a quiet home. When we get word that Al gets to come back home it still won’t be bad. Just the two of us and he watches TV mostly. I will be busy with him and my writing. But even then, I am in my home safe and sound.

I learned this little tidbit on Facebook yesterday. I even practiced it last night when I went to bed. If your car has the alarm on it for horn sound and lights, lay the key ring on your nightstand. If someone tries to break in push  the buttons. It should scare the intruder off and alert neighbors while you call the police. I thought that was a good idea myself.

A little information on this blog;

1. I did not have a pet until I was in middle school, it was a purple and white parakeet.
2. I was a part of a 4-H club called pet partners that was run by the animal shelter in Tallahassee. I spend 3 years with them until I aged out when I turned 17.
3. I wish I had known how important it was to take your pet to the vet when I had cats and dogs. So that’s why I’m very supportive of education programs about pet care and low costs spay/neuter clinics.
4. I will be attending the BlogPaws Conference this year in Vienna, VA. I am very excited but nervous and scare all at once.
5. I used to be in chorus in middle school.
6. I love the color lime green.
7. I am an only child.
8. I have four cats… Bubby, Buggy, Miss Bit-bit and Boo.
