You know that this song was written by a captain (British) on a slave ship … and when he realized what was going on – he became a priest and this song is about him asking about forgiveness for what he done when he took all those slaves from Africa to America, with stopover in Bristol, UK . Love the song, but I’m not too keen on the artists here … still I enjoy listening to it. My favorite version is with Il Divo, it gives me Goosebumps.’
There is a very good movie about the slave trade and how it was stopped in UK with same title as the song.
I love Celtic Women!
