Something new
Something borrowed
Something blue
Today when I visited Al
He had something new
To say, something
Borrowed from a
Scary movie I once watched
And something that
Made me blue
For the first time
I knew without thinking
That Al is beginning
Another part of the
Nasty Parkinson’s Disease
I took him lunch
Which I try to do
On Sunday noons
As our families
Used to do
Right in the middle
Of eating his fries
He looked at the floor
And then rubbed his eyes
He asked me if I saw
What he had seen
I looked at the floor
And said no it is clean
He said little animals
Were all over the floor
But when he rubbed his eyes
And looked again they were never more………….

I always imagine it is part from his medications for pain and part of the PD. If I have his pain meds taken a way so he doesn’t hallucinate, his pain will be unbearable. I feel there is no easy solution at this point

you are correct there is no happy medium at this point and time. As long as he is as comfortable as he can be that is the ultimate goal. Bless you for all you do for your brother.

*hugs* I had no idea this was a part of PD. How horrifying.. thankfully it was just little animals. Any word on when he can come home. Will you be able to handle him if he has a bad hallucination?

from what I was taught even though we realize there is nothing there, we do not argue with him and let him believe what he wishes. for he believes it is the truth. All i know is they are setting his budget now and he should be home soon. I am hoping next month

I think our minds get used to what has happened in our lives. I look back at what i have written so far and wonder who those kids are…………sounds stupid i know but we or I have become fearful and have always felt unwanted so i think in our under lying minds the past remains present

How difficult for you both! I know my mom was halucinating the last month she was alive. She saw glasses of water in her bed, or a man in a chair (my dad I think) who was not there. There are many causes of halucinations. It might help to mention it to his doctor, but there might not be much that can be done. It depends on the cause. I know when I was about 10 I had a fever and I could see “men’s heads” on the wallpaper in mom’s room. Later I looked and they weren’t there. Good luck to you and Al. I hope this is a temporary thing and that he can come home soon.

I agree!
Thought about it, but it’s hard to be Canadian and get a good work visa, so I had to give up, by default.
What I wouldn’t give, to give you real hugs.

Much love to you Terry. Father, I pray in Jesus’ name that You will arise and show Yourself strong on Terry’s behalf. Comfort her Lord, and in Jesus’ name, deliver Al from the visions the enemy puts before him. Instead, Father, I ask that You give Al the vision to see those things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. Lord, let him see if there is any excellence, and if there is anything worthy of praise, and let him think about and see those things, in Jesus’ name, amen.
