Please don’t cry
When I turn a way
For I must go
And this you know
I have to do
What is right for me
I must serve
In the military
Please dry your eyes
And smile for me
Let me savor
It in memory.

Truly beautiful! You may not know that Awakenings is dedicated to our soldiers. With that being said, I would like to feature this poem on the Awakenings blog. [It is Blogspot so I cannot just reblog.] Do you have anything special you would like to share as to what inspired this writing? Let’s correspond via email: poetrybysharla@gmail.com
