I Am Scared, I Admit It

I can’t help it. I live with Rhino in a small home and I am a little afraid. I have actually been praying most of the afternoon for God to keep me and anyone in this storms path safe. In fact, I have been praying that this storm we are to get vanishes into thin air.

The newscasters say they have never had one of these kind of storms before. It is supposed to be very high winds, chance of tornadoes, one inch hail. It is to start around 7pm central time and go until 2am.

Although I am  praying, I am still afraid. I do not live in a brick home as the Three Little Pigs. Instead I live somewhere closer to the stick and straw home.

If I don’t respond tonight to comments, you will know that my computer is turned off. Please pray that me and anyone in the location of this enormous storm remain safe.animated_lightning.gif

  1. Can you go be with someone, so you’re not alone and feel safer?
Apparently there’s a tornado coming 4 hours from where we live too but won’t come near us. Those that are 4 hours from us are in their basements. 😦 I hope it isn’t as bad as they’re calling for Terry!

  2. Oh, Terry, I am thinking of you, and wishing you safe and well. I wish there were a shelter, or someone with a basement near by. Take care, and please let us know that you are safe.

    • thank you Naomi. When I bought my home there was a laundry mat on site. The owner of the park has since shut it down and locked it leaving us with no where to go. I called the office today and asked what we were to do since this could be the worst storm ever, and she said get in my car and go opposite direction. As huge as this storm is predicted to be I would have to leave the state

  3. Terry, I think of you often and pray for you and Al daily. God is with you! I understand what it is like to be alone after being a single parent of a very young child for 12 years. My daughter was 2 when I left her biological father. It was during those times I learned how much God protected me; especially the night we had the worst storm I can remember and the lightning hit our house and blew up in my bathroom. I had just walked out of it. The story is a blog I wrote and it was a miracle I wasn’t hurt. There are many other times God has sent me angels, or done unusual things to keep me safe. U have guardian angels with you all the time. Think about that and how great that is!

    • I can relate to what you are saying. Being alone and Al’s illness have drawn me so much closer to God. Maybe if these things had not happened I would be a drifter, so I am thankful for my life and the path it takes. I always forget about guardian angels. I don’t know why. When I am bothered I always go straight to God. Thank you for reminding me and thank you for so many prayers my friend

  4. Sending prayers. And wondering if you can go to a church building for safety? Also sometimes the Red Cross sets hp storm shelters in school and other brick buildings. You might find that in a goolgle search for your town. I worked with Red Cross after a hurricane and they did have shelters set up before the storm arrived. I don’t know what they do for severe mid- western weather though.

  5. Red Cross opens shelter in Southern Indiana for storm victims….. Terry, I did a search on Red Cross shelters and came up with the headline above and many others. Search using your state and county and see what you can find. Good luck.

  6. Hi Friend! You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You are covered in my prayers. God is with you, and His Angels are surrounding you. Prayers continue to go out for Al.
Be brave, and strong. God will not forsake you. Blessings my friend.

  7. How did you make out? We are getting the remanent of the band this afternoon – I hear it is going to get ugly and already flash flood warnings are in affect.

    • I made it through with all the prayers and God. It was not as bad as predicted with the winds but the rains were terrible. I am sure God had a lot to do with keeping me safe

      • Amen – thankfully we are not to get it as bad as predicated either, now it is a steady heavy rain with thunderstorms later. Praise God it was not as bad especially for the mid west states, I think you all had enough.

  8. I’m glad you are staying safe … have only been in server storms once … in New Orleans, tropical storm and that was enough for a life time. Hope that everybody around is okay now.
    Love that lighting image, great.

  9. I am deathly afraid of tornadoes, and fly into a full-fledged panic attack if there’s even a possibility of one headed my way. Because of this, I’m not the right person to offer comfort or words of wisdom about this, so I’ll just say, that I share your fear, you’re not alone, and I hope you’re okay.
