I know the reason
It’s called Respite
Needed for people
Who are caregivers
The air feels stale
The walls seem bare
The sounds of
What is not
Normal I do crave
The ticking of the clock
Pierce my ears
My eyes are heavy
But sleep stalls
As I lay silently
Waiting to go to him
For he needs me
But for now
I must rest
I must get ready
For the new day
When hopefully
He will once again
Bring these
Walls to life.

Words of wisdom. As a caregiver I feel what you are feeling. Prayer is our respite. God knows our heart and, he is taking care of our love ones.

Being the primary caregiver forces you into a situation where you rest when they rest…It is like having a new-born baby again. Hugs dear Terry!

Respite is always needed. This was created to give the caregivers a much needed rest. He will be better and so will you. Your life will seem different. Maybe even feel that a weight has been lifted off your shoulders … and that isn’t bad … that is normal.
Love the song …… Hugs, T!!!! 🙂

I can only reiterate what the others have said. You need this time. You know it’s going to get hard soon. Take this time to sort yourself out in the calm before the storm. Rest. We are all here for you.
