Al has definitely not been himself yesterday and today. After the nurse came Friday night and did her thing with helping Al use the bathroom he has changed. He can’t stand at all. He stayed in bed all day yesterday, except for a couple of hours. Today was a repeat of yesterday. He did get up for supper because we had company all day, I was shocked he didn’t want to come out. It was my grandson’s birthday. So we smoked a delicious turkey. My son used his leaf sweeper and picked up my leaves. I fixed all the trimmings for supper.
Al ate no lunch and when he did come out for supper he ate better but he wept most of the time. He said he had no reason why he was crying. After they left for home, Al wanted back in bed, so I had taken quite a few photos so I thought I may as well show them to you instead of sitting here in the silence while he sleeps again. I did put up the Christmas Tree for Al. He said he liked it but he wept harder.
I like the photos of Al and the cat.

So glad you have this beautiful Christmas tree, and I expected Al to cry over it. I would have too. Al seems to get weaker so good he has the cat with him. Your turkey looks delicious and the fun outside with the leaves looks great. And that cake…. you need to come to my next birthday. 🙂

thanks Ute, several of the ornaments are Moms and others I bought because they look like the old ones I used to see when I was a kid. You know Al better than me because I was shocked he cried. I love Birthday cake so let me know when there is one at your place!!!!

Thank you for sharing these with us. I think the cat wants to spend all of his time with Al and is worried about him going so he is telling everyone to leave. Does he just hiss when there is only Al in there?

yes, only when Al is in the room, this is the only time. you think he senses something is wrong?

Yeah I do. Cats have this ability to see and sense what we don’t.

Bless your heart sweet Terry.You work so hard for your family. You should have a great big reward waiting for you in heaven one day! I love that Al and the cat have bonded so well. They obviously fulfill needs in one another. 🙂 What year did Al graduate from high school. I graduated from WCHS in 1973. Love you.

Love touch with the Christmas tree … very thoughtful of you … because it makes Al feel good and if that means to have the Christmas tree up the whole year, right move. Great gallery of from your weekend … Rino is truly giving Al love and comfort, and it’s both ways. Lovely photos of them both.

It is probably the progression and while he was sad this day, we can hope he has some days ahead of joy and contentment… and it is good that the cat is a companion. I really believe animals help us when we are sick…. It’s tough watching him like this so I hope and pray for strength for you Diane

Such a beautiful tree – well worth putting up early. I’ve seen someone else has decorated their window with reindeer near me so you are not the only early bird. I think it’s wonderful you did this and I’m glad you had a great weekend.

Lyrics
1. A poor, wayfaring Man of grief
Hath often crossed me on my way,
Who sued so humbly for relief
That I could never answer nay.
I had not pow’r to ask his name,
Whereto he went, or whence he came;
Yet there was something in his eye
That won my love; I knew not why.
2. Once, when my scanty meal was spread,
He entered; not a word he spake,
Just perishing for want of bread.
I gave him all; he blessed it, brake,
And ate, but gave me part again.
Mine was an angel’s portion then,
For while I fed with eager haste,
The crust was manna to my taste.
3. I spied him where a fountain burst
Clear from the rock; his strength was gone.
The heedless water mocked his thirst;
He heard it, saw it hurrying on.
I ran and raised the suff’rer up;
Thrice from the stream he drained my cup,
Dipped and returned it running o’er;
I drank and never thirsted more.
4. ‘Twas night; the floods were out; it blew
A winter hurricane aloof.
I heard his voice abroad and flew
To bid him welcome to my roof.
I warmed and clothed and cheered my guest
And laid him on my couch to rest,
Then made the earth my bed and seemed
In Eden’s garden while I dreamed.
5. Stript, wounded, beaten nigh to death,
I found him by the highway side.
I roused his pulse, brought back his breath,
Revived his spirit, and supplied
Wine, oil, refreshment–he was healed.
I had myself a wound concealed,
But from that hour forgot the smart,
And peace bound up my broken heart.
6. In pris’n I saw him next, condemned
To meet a traitor’s doom at morn.
The tide of lying tongues I stemmed,
And honored him ‘mid shame and scorn.
My friendship’s utmost zeal to try,
He asked if I for him would die.
The flesh was weak; my blood ran chill,
But my free spirit cried, “I will!”
7. Then in a moment to my view
The stranger started from disguise.
The tokens in his hands I knew;
The Savior stood before mine eyes.
He spake, and my poor name he named,
“Of me thou hast not been ashamed.
These deeds shall thy memorial be;
Fear not, thou didst them unto me.”
