Daily Prompt; The Golden Hour

6:00AM: the best hour of the day, or too close to your 3:00AM bedtime?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us DAWN.

Definitely mornings are my best. My sugars are down. I am sort of rested. I get up, put my slippers on, my house coat, scratch my leg, scratch my butt, and waddle into the bathroom where I plop myself on the toilet and smoke my first cigarette.

After looking at the face staring back at me I make my way to the kitchen where I pour myself my first cup of brew. Hot brew with cream, no sugar please. I check the cat food bowls over. Filling the food up, disposing the old, replacing with new water.

I check my time. Fifteen minutes before I get Al up. Scratch my butt one more time. Walk over to the window and look at the outdoor thermometer. Looking at the lower temperatures I shiver inside my clothing realizing summer is actually gone.

I take solace in the day. Sun is shining. Trees are partially covered, some are bare. Leaves covering once green grass. Aww, life is good, morning is new, then I waddle over to the computer, take a sip of coffee, light up another cigarette and get in those last few moments of checking out what my friends have to say.
