Waiting For Spring

Waiting For Spring

Snow is melting

Ice is slick

Wind is blowing

Air is thick.

Winter still here

A tease of Spring

One day it’s freezing

Another day I sing.

February is short

And yet so long

Can’t wait for warmth

Barefoot or thongs.

For now I will just wait

And take a sample of Spring

The cold winds of winter

Will continue to ring.

  1. I saw the first blossoms on red bud trees here this week so I got hopeful for spring but then I saw the weather report for next week and the forecast calls for wintry mix again – what has happened to the warm sunny South?? Sigh.
