A Bookish Choice

A literary-minded which gives you a choice: with a flick of the wand, you can become either an obscure novelist whose work will be admired and studied by a select few for decades, or a popular paperback author whose books give pleasure to millions. Which do you choose?

Since I was up to my neck with the disease MSA that my brother had; I decided to write my second book about Al. It is called Al, His Life & MSA. I couldn’t think of a better book to write about than this in my life.

I am not a professional of any kind, unless you want to sneak in the words of Published Author, so I don’t have most of the answers. I do, however, feel that I can offer hope, and provide relief to those who are suffering from this terminal illness or comfort to caregivers and families.

My first book I published, Dahlia, was the fun book. It was a book about dreams, rocky roads, and how to overcome those dead-end paths we run into.cropped-dahlia-front-cover.jpgI was and am so proud of this book I wanted everyone to share in my joy of writing and living along the words with me.

My newest book is about finished in the Editing Department. I am still searching for a reputable author who will want to get involved with the publishing that seeks out medical information and true life stories of terminally ill patients. If I can not, I will self-publish it because there are a few doctors and friends who are awaiting this book.

This book does not give me the inner joy or thrill of being an author once again. This new book has given me an inner drive to place it in the right hands. It won’t be for everyone. It isn’t for teens or children. People will latch onto it because they will recognize those three letters, MSA.

So for this writing prompt, I choose the first choice, a select few who want to study and read this and if I am lucky enough, maybe I will be admired by a few also.
