I don’t know how else to say it in a more elegant way, but I need your help. Two days ago, I was eating and half of a filling fell out of a molar I have. I went to the dentist today and after x-rays were taken, I learned that much of my bone was lost, my teeth are loose and that there was no longer any way to save those that are left.
This probably explains why my sugar levels are constantly on the high side, since my teeth are bad. I am on Disability and have no dental insurance. I do wish Medicare offered dental and vision but they don’t.
I am getting my teeth pulled and dentures placed in on Nov. 19. The total cost is $3505 for extractions and dentures. I really need some help to get this paid down before the 19th arrives.
This is why I have come to you. I am sorry, but I spent so much taking care of my brother, my funds are low and I can’t work full/time because of my disability. If any of you can help, please click on the link below.
Thank-you for taking the time to read this.
Terry, I can so relate.. I finally started seeing a dentist in June, not great but they have helped me to avoid any serious dental care. I shelled out more than I wanted and still need to have a chipped tooth repaired. I hope for the best for you..

Thank you Mother Hen. Yes, I know it is expensive. A little over three years ago I paid over 3,000 in Florida for dental work. I think my Diabetes does a real job on my teeth. I will be glad when this is all over and I am healed

Hi Terry…I wish I could offer you some help, but I have some dental work of my own I need to get done, and I don’t have insurance, either. 😦 I was able to find a community program that offers significant discounts on dental services, and that does help. I hope you are able to find the assistance you need, either from the people here or through some sort of non-profit in your community. Wishing you all the best…

Thank you very much Stephanie. I will be so thankful when this is all over. I haven’t been able to locate any help, and I wish you the best on your own dental work. Dentists sure are expensive aren’t they?

Have you tried to file for medicaid? I have medicare and medicaid and it is the medicaid that offers dental. I had to have all my teeth pulled and full dentures put in. I have had them for almost two years. My teeth went bad due to the seizure meds I took and still take. Deteriorated my gums there for making my teeth go bad and fall out and break and fall apart especially when eating. I feel for you. Also the clinics do have dental plans which allows you to pay in payments. I know I paid 50 and got a card and then would be able to get discounts and such. Talk to your local DHS and or health department they will be able to help you there are programs out there just have to find them. Also you can check with any rehabilitation services around sometimes they can offer donations and help to low income people who need help. Good luck. I know how you feel.

This is just so much on top of all you have been through. There’s a business here, affordable dentures. I Know people who have used them and they do good work. They aren’t as expensive as the place you went to. I Can’t believe Medicare or Medicaid won’t help!

Medicare offers health care only . I guess teeth and eyes are not part of health care . I don’t qualify for medicaid . Some places who charge less for dentures don’t offer payment plans

there is a program through dfcs called abd. aged, blind and disabled. if you go and ask for that specific program there is a medicaid based on your income and how much you have spent on dr.’s, prescriptions and even dentists. once you reach the deductible you can choose a month for all medical and dental bills to be paid. i hope this helps my friend.

Thank you my friend, I will look it up. After much research and reading, I have decided to only have the uppers removed and the broken tooth below and one upper partial. Reading so much I have learned that if I can keep my lowers, even a few of them, it will help retain my shape of face, and so many other things and quite honestly at this point my lowers are not near the condition as the tops

That’s an incredible price 😦 Over here we have the National Health Service and if you have diabetes, you get free eye tests, free dental work and free chiropodists.

I need to move there!!! I have decided after much research reading I am only going to get the uppers pulled and the one broken one on bottom and then an upper plate. All the reading I have done states that if at all, keep the lowers, and for me, my lowers are not near as bad as the uppers

If they don’t need doing, then you don’t need to put yourself through the pain and the cost of it.

That’s the way I feel, and even though it has been hours since I made that decision, I still feel the same, and I feel a peace about it

Dental care usually gets put on the back burner..I wish that some dentists would pay it forward and offer free service once and awhile, out of the goodness of their hearts…

That would be nice. I paid out of my pocket last year for uppers. I jut don’t have the money anymore with not being able to work

Yes, it’s a problem for those of us that are on very fixed incomes… I have often thought that certain businesses could have a monthly drawing and give someone free service.. Like a free haircut etc …
