Daily Prompt
New Skin
If you could spend the next year as someone radically different from the current “you” — a member of a different species, someone from a different gender or generation, etc. — who would you choose to be?
LIFE THEN AND NOW
I would choose to be a child from years gone by
Where children were shown love and taught not to lie
Parents worked hard all day long
After supper dad even played a song
Rules were followed; only told twice
Kids knew if they were being naughty or nice
Chores were expected to be done each day
It was a learning experience in every way
Sunday was definitely a day of rest
Went to church in their Sunday best
When problems arose they prayed to God
They said their words so full of love
Families stuck by each others side
Even when homes were far and wide
I can’t say I have ever lived like this
But to me it sounds like awesome bliss
For God put us on this earth for a reason
To share, to love in every season.

I have always wanted to be Jeanie from the old show I Dream of Jeanie, and a multicolored butterfly.

She was the coolest and I always wanted her body figure as it was so much better than mine. Now that I am older all I want to keep is my health. hugs

This is well written and I agree about how the children are raised. I can’t imagine being a child again. Maybe that’s because Tom has been so very sick.

I can’t imagine bringing up a child today and I am in no position to be raising a child anymore. The patience is gone

I’m in the same boat with you Terry. I’ve lost my patience. It simply ran away when I was looking. I do my best to never say a harsh word to Tom and give the impression that I can’t do something.

I did too with Al. I went to my room and wept

Beautiful written, dear Terry. Maybe we can bring back the inner child in ourselves instead of going back 😀 Extra Pawkisses for a Happy New Year.

Thanks so much Angel. I think we all have an inner child and it needs to be released at times to help us feel good and young at heart
