My Thoughts End of Day

There is something to be said when it is quiet. The TV is on low. The grandkids are in bed. Parents are doing whatever parents do after the kiddies are resting. Suddenly, you hear, or almost hear your own thoughts.

I thought about my day today, and realized it went very well. I had no pain that I couldn’t deal with. I didn’t fall over anything. The only thing that got on my nerves is the tremors in my hands makes it hard to handle game controllers.

Each time I went out to smoke tonight after dark, I spotted this very bright star. It stands all alone and I see it each, clear evening. I look up at it and I wonder if there is anyone or anything that can see me standing there.

When we look up at the heavens, it is so peaceful. I wonder what it was like before God made the stars and the solar system. Was it pure darkness? Before Adam and Eve were created, God must have been very lonely.

The quietness and walking through such beauty that he had made, must have seemed like there was a bigger purpose than just the vision of the eye. God could see deeper. Deeper than we can possibly ever see.

He had a plan and he put it in motion and created life. Now I look around at this life he made and I wonder if he weeps when he sees such chaos. There is plenty of beauty left, but it has to be searched for at times.

Media does such a good job of making sure we know that this cop shot some person down, or a drug bust was made and 20 people were arrested. Now we have the political campaigns in force. There is always something going on.  We need to be careful to what we actually let sink into our brains. We can be easily swayed into fear of living by newspapers and media.black clouds 2

The peace that I see when I look up into the skies, is not something that I get to enjoy much during the daylight, but it’s okay, I guess. I have that to look forward to each evening.

We are truly blessed to be among the living here on earth. There are a lot of good people still around us. We have many more blessings than what we even recognize. We are given a gift, and we are God’s gift. Together, it makes life work.

You all have a  nice evening. Talk to you tomorrow.

Do The Right Thing

I don’t usually post or share too many things on Facebook that have to do with animals. I am more about sharing and posting; trying to be a support system for people with MSA. Today, for some reason, I did.

I saw many animal videos, and they weren’t all cute and adorable. One was a cat, which was a pretty cute video. The cat was nice and healthy. It was more a video about how the cat was talking to its owner. It was waiting to be let inside and it was sitting on the top step, looking in the glass door. It was meowing to a tune of Let me in, let me in.

There were other videos of abused dogs, where firemen had saved them, and I saw videos of dogs who weren’t so lucky to be saved. Seeing so many videos drew me to write this post tonight. These videos were not pretty or cute.

Pets don’t ask to come live with us. We invite and take them in. When they are babies, they have the cutest faces and bodies. As they grow and pick-up not so good of habits, such as chewing our shoes, or barking too much; we suddenly don’t think of them as cuties anymore.

What happens is the ignoring stage. Put the animal(s) outside, shut in a room, anything to get them out of sight for just a short while. Before you know it, we develop our own nasty habits of ignoring and abuse of animals.

What I have to say is DON’T. Don’t do this to animals. If you change your mind about that cute little pet, look for a new home for him or her. Don’t hit it, or starve it, or worse yet, pretend they don’t exist.

To those who suspect there is animal cruelty in any form going on, please report it to your Animal shelter, sheriff or police department.  They deserve to be treated with love and respect, just as you expect this same treatment from other humans.

A Day in a Life

It was pretty cold last night. This morning it was cloudy and still cold. I wished it were sunny. I can wish right? I went out about an hour later and low and behold, the sun was and is still shining.

It isn’t much warmer, but the vision presented to me, made it feel much warmer. There is something to be said about a cold, winter day. Snow lays quietly on the ground. The air is crisp. You inhale and the air seems to regenerate your spirit. The streets seem more quiet.

You just don’t have that advantage with warmer weather. You tend to hear more traffic. You see and listen to children playing. You lose a little of that peace. I always thought I never wanted to see a snowy winter day, but I have to admit, looking forward to the four seasons in Indiana, and enjoying what each has to offer is a beauty in itself.

I took a few photos this morning and here is what I saw.

A friend of mine wrote a beautiful poem. She asked me to not use her name; but instead give the credit to God for what she wrote. I will share it with you here also.
