The word for today is; MNEMONIC
I am at this point in my life. I went to the doctor and told him that for several months I have noticed myself forgetting things short-term. He talked to me for a bit and then explained that due to my age and my Parkinson’s; short-term memory is to be expected.
It scares me a little because I forget important things. Examples; Did I take my medicine already? What time am I supposed to be somewhere? Did I eat yet? What did I have for breakfast?
My doctor said the best thing I can do for myself is to exercise my brain. He suggested I find games to play that stimulate me. I am a big fan of Facebook, so I went to the gaming section and looked at different games.
I now play Words with friends. I don’t have many to play with so if you enjoy the game, friend me and we can play together. I also found a new game called, Hidden Objects online. This is a great game. Not only is it fun, it is challenging to the brain too. I am to find hidden pieces on the screen in so many seconds. I actually think this is helping me. I also have been a huge fan of the Bingo online games. The one I play is Bingo Showdown. The last game I play is Bingo Shootout. A little guy whips out numbers and you have to find them on your game card. You earn points by different things that show up on the card and you can also lose points if you don’t click on the right numbers.
These games are not only fun, they are helping my brain. If you play any of these, let me know. Who says a Senior woman can’t still have fun and play games like when we were kids!
