Minding my own business

Thinking nothing much

When suddenly a thought appears

With the slightest human touch.

 

I stop what I am doing

I think about memories

I feel a sense of closeness

And brings me to my knees.

 

I look up to the heavens

I know you are right here

I reach up towards the stars

And I thank you for being near.
