Why Don’t People Follow the Rules?

Hello my friends. Today was not fun so far. It sleeted overnight and I had to go to the doctor for lab work. It wasn’t fun and I drove like a turtle. I kept thinking, ” you all go around me, I don’t care.”

Afterwards I went to work but there was no work available so I drove back home. I have to go back to the doctor’s this afternoon for my results, hoping the roads will be better. When I came home, someone other than who lives here, had parked in my spot. This is a private area parking and usually when this happens, someone from a business beside me is parking in my spot.

I have to get out of my car and go up several steps and go inside and ask who is parking in my spot. Someone always raises their hand and says they were just going to be a minute. I tell them, it’s private, and for them to park on the street. They usually laugh and ignore me. Today was worse though. The car didn’t belong to the business next door and I had to end up parking in front on the street. A lot longer walk for me and I almost fell twice. I talked to management and they said they would look into it.

Why can’t people follow the rules? Why do they think they are special? Then to pretty much laugh me off. It upsets me because I struggle to walk anyways and on top of ice is worse.

It seems that a lot of people don’t follow the rules. Children killed near me because someone didn’t pay attention to the school bus arm and was on their phone instead. People killing others. People killing school kids.

Using illegal drugs. Buying guns underground. Stealing, cheating. I could go on and on. Why do these people do these things? It’s so frustrating to me. I’m not perfect by far but I try to follow the rules.

This world is suffering. Our government is throwing tantrums. This is a great way to kick off 2019, don’t you think?

School Days, School Days

Summer is half over. I have seen school ads on the television and remember how our family scrimped and saved during July in order to pay for all those school books, supplies and clothes.

There was no extra spending on fun, groceries or trinkets. No matter how my kids begged, there just wasn’t the money. Back when my kids were in school, the price of a lunch was 50 cents and then worked up to tops of 75 cents.

Now I hear prices are over a dollar and they have snack machines and a much better variety of lunches offered. This is a good thing but i have to ponder on those that can’t afford to buy those lunches who may have two or three kids to feed.

I don’t remember me ever taking a sack lunch to school. I always ate in the cafeteria. In face, I remember what it was to receive a brown bag lunch when I went to the circus in the third grade. Opening it up and finding a sandwich and a cookie was so much fun.

I went to the Goodwill store a few days ago and I saw quite a few moms with kids and they were definitely clothing shopping. I remembered my days when I heard those older kids tell the mom they didn’t like what mom was picking it out. At the age of being a teen, my thought was the same as my mom’s thoughts. Don’t like what i am buying? Get a part-time job and that way you can buy what you choose.

With all the bullying that goes on at schools and in-room classes and on the buses, it makes me very glad I went to school when I did.

Of course there were those that picked on other kids, but the thought of hearing, “Jimmy, sit down in your seat or I am going to follow you right to the office and then I am going to call your parents,” scared those little pickers enough, that they behaved.

Why is it today that kids feel they do not need to respect or obey their elders? I didn’t get by with even voicing my opinions. It was considered mouthing off and I got in trouble for it.

I’m not saying kids shouldn’t have an opinion and voice it. I think I should have also. After all, how are parents supposed to get to know their children as they develop into their personalities. The difference though is, kids should be allowed to voice their thoughts but respect their parents enough to realize that the parents final decision is nothing more than final decision.

Nope, I don’t envy my children getting their kids ready for school and those teen years arriving sooner and sooner. I am not so old that I don’t remember that parenting day or how I tried to get my own way.

Good luck parents. School is almost here.

The Prompt

One character is trying to sell something to another character. .

Eddie was a geek and most kids didn’t like him because he was different from them. In grade school, he got called on by the teacher more. Kids were jealous, I think. In the middle school, Eddie only had a couple of close friends, who were also geeky.smart-school-boy-light-bulb-27300632

By the time high school came around, Eddie had it all planned out. He knew what college he was going to plan to attend. He had prepared educationally so that he could receive scholarships to help him out.

He got a part-time job at McDonalds, so his parents wouldn’t have to help him out too much with spending money.h-mcdonalds-Double-Quarter-Pounder-with-Cheese-Extra-Value-Meals

He got a long a little better during this part of his life. He was working beside adults who seemed to respect him; but there were still those kids who liked to pick on him. He tried to ignore him; but it was hard.

Sometimes he would return to his car after work and there would be standing a couple of co-employees. They teased him about not having a girlfriend and having no dates. They started drilling him on what he needed to do if he wanted to get some.

This went on for weeks and then one Friday evening,  he got off later than usual. It was Fall and the weather was chilly with leaves falling.

Eddie was tired. He drug his feet a little as he made his way to his car. He couldn’t wait to get home and get to bed. He didn’t see the two when he was nearing the car but as he opened the door; the two jumped up beside him.

“Hey, we got the perfect way for you to get a girl. You will be so glad we thought this up for you.”

“Hey guys, I’m not interested. I just want to go home.” Eddie started to sit down in the front driver’s seat, when the two yanked him back out. Before Eddie could do anything, the one guy stuck a needle into his arm.images (2)

“No need to thank us buddy.  It was our pleasure.” The two boys laughed out loud and ran off.

Eddie got in his car and left for home. The road started weaving and he felt dizzy; but he didn’t want to stop. He wanted to be home; close to his parents in case he needed help. He looked down at the speedometer. He was speeding way too fast; but he couldn’t lift his foot from the accelerator.

The tree was coming fast but yet seemed so far away. The front of the car slammed into the tree. Eddie’s head leaned into the steering wheel causing the horn to continually blow.

Eddie died at the scene. The autopsy said, drug overdose.

His parents were shocked. They didn’t have any idea their child, who was so smart, would ever get into the drug scene.

The two boys who forced their idea on Eddie were fed Karma the rest of their natural lives.

Stop It! Stop It! Stop It!

Another school shooting just a while ago, here in Indiana, this time. Noblesville  is the city.

I am so tired of this needless killing.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/25/us/indiana-school-shots-fired/index.html

I am actually tired of hearing politicians say,” I am praying for this family.” YES! we need prayers. What person doesn’t?

We need help!!! Get off your butts you politicians and make something happen. How would you feel it it was your kids or grandchildren? Would you do more than pray?

Pay for more police on school grounds. Pay for mental health clinics. Pay for therapies. Do something! We will pray with you, for you. We will stand by you, for you. Just help us by making this stop.

Daily Prompt/ One Word Prompt

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/awkward/

The word for today is; awkward

I wonder how the kid feels about taking those ten lives.

Dimitrios Pagourtzis was seen entering the low-slung building at Santa Fe High School on Friday morning, armed and wearing a trench coat.

Like others who’ve terrorized American students, the 17-year-old planned to kill his peers and then himself, the authorities said.

He opened fire, and the school erupted in chaos. An alarm clanged, and in the art room, bloodied students cried for help.

But once the bullets pierced his classmates’ bodies, the suspect surrendered, said Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, and admitted “that he didn’t have the courage to commit the suicide.”

On Friday, as a small Texas town grappled with the deaths of 10 of their own, a sketchy profile of another violent young man came to the fore, the disturbing details of his life blurring with those of the school gunmen of the past.

“Born to Kill” appeared on a T-shirt he posted on his Facebook page, along with images of the trench coat and an explanation of its decorations.

The family says;

Suspect’s family: He’s a ‘sweet boy’

The family of 17-year-old Pagourtzis, accused of killing 10 people and wounding 13 others at the Texas high school Friday, issued a statement expressing condolences to the victims.
The family members said they are “as shocked and confused as anyone by these events that occurred.”
Pagourtzis is a “smart, quiet, sweet boy,” they said.
The statement, issued through a law firm, says the family is cooperating with investigators and will make no other public comments until the fact-finding stage is completed.
“While we remain mostly in the dark about the specifics of yesterday’s tragedy, what we have learned from media reports seems incompatible with the boy we love,” they said.
Pagourtzis is being held without bail and is accused of capital murder of multiple people and aggravated assault on a public servant. He has not entered a plea.
Robert Barfield, the attorney for Pagourtzis, said his client is “not doing well” and is “confused.”
The suspect won’t face the death penalty if he is convicted. Under Texas law, offenders who are under age 18 and charged with a capital offense face a maximum punishment of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 40 years, according to Robert Dunham of the Death Penalty Information Center.
Suspected killer, 17 years old.

Do you think he feels awkward after the fact? Did he feel awkward when he planned and plotted this killing scheme?

You are one of many sitting at the Oval table. A knock at the door, he enters with news. Another school shooting! We will have to come up with a solution soon.download (1)You are sitting at your office and news comes through the ceiling speakers. Another school shooting. You grab your purse and jacket. You race down the hall and you pull out your cell and call your spouse.

You drive like a maniac to the school your child attends. Police are trying to direct traffic. Yellow barrier markers are holding you back. You quickly speak gibberish, letting them know you are a parent. You wait, hand in hand with your other half. Minutes turn into drive me nuts time. The horse finally gives you the news you so anxiously await for. Your child didn’t make it.nintchdbpict000294810060

You are a teenager that goes to a school somewhere in the United States. You are scared to go back to school because of a recent shooting rampage. You are heart broken that your friend is no longer living. You get mad. You talk to your other friends. You gather together. You form a large bond. You have decided to provoke these mad men who take it upon themselves to make decisions to mess with other people’s lives. You band together and begin your protest. You have courage. You have words to say. You will show everyone that you aren’t going to take this shit anymore!main_1200

Plan or Insanity

Plan or Insanity

With plan in mind
You stand in line
With lack of guilt
The plan you built
You take a life
You take a wife
A teacher too
A child you knew
You plant the fear
To those too near
You stand in court
And try to abort
The notion true
Wasn’t really you
Should you escape
The crime of hate
If you choose to play
You must have to pay.

Daily Prompt/ One Word Prompt

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/prompts/simplify/

The one word prompt today is; SIMPLIFY

sim·pli·fy
ˈsimpləˌ
verb
  1. make (something) simpler or easier to do or understand.

How do you make something easier or simpler to understand when you are trying your best to help them understand your point? Well, perhaps showing them a good example. Let’s take bullying for example.

When I was a kid; I got teased. Did you get teased about something growing up? For me, it was my weight. I blamed myself. I tried hiding myself when we had to wear those blue gym suits. I hated taking the showers after gym because I knew I was fat.

Should I have blamed myself? Probably not when I look at life today.  My mother had me in weight classes before I was 12 years old. She blamed my real mother for my weight. She told me that my real mother fed me nothing but whole milk. I am not sure today if there is any truth to this theory or not.

I can remember in elementary school kids calling me those famous quotes, “fatty, fatty, two by four, can’t get through the open door.” Wow, you know what? This still remains with me today. I have always called myself fat. Now that I have gastreo problems from my Parkinson’s and scar tissue in my gut, from being cut open twice in the same place by surgeons, I consider myself a big baboon. Totally disgusting and very hard to look at myself in the mirror.

What if I could turn back time and stuff pillows  under those kids shirts that called me names. Would they reconsider calling me names? I don’t know if it would or not. What if the kids today that bully, were bullied in their weak areas? Would they stop?

I was reading an article on my Facebook this morning. It was an awesome idea she had. She had each child write down who they admired that week and to also pick three students they would like to sit next to the following week. After the papers were turned in at the end of the day, the teacher was able to  pick out which students were being left out. She claimed that by seeing this, she was able to work with those students that were left out. She said lonely children felt this way for various reasons and if she could help them by working with them, she could bring them further with self-confidence.

I think she has a point. It does seem to be the weak that get picked on; I agree. A strong, self-confident child will not be picked on near as easily. I think I like this teacher. She is a role model for many of us. Her way of teaching and showing the positive way to do things is a very simplified way of learning. Think about it, give me your view on my post.

big fat

Who? Who?

In my day; life was good; no better than today. Not just because the economy was stabilized, not only were students and schools working together, but morality was higher.

As I listen to the news and daily talk shows, my heart sinks, as I ponder on who kids can trust today. The saying was ” don’t get into cars with strangers.” ” Your policemen are your friend.”

Today, I don’t trust very many. The most groups I don’t trust are, teachers, politicians, ministers and high-office positions. You may say,” Why in the world do you say that”?

Simple, Satan is at work. Egos are too high, too much confidence, too much concern over self, too concerned with money and the need for power is; overwhelming.

Send your child to a training camp and there is a fat chance sexual abuse will be happening to one of those kids. Allow your child to attend private school or tech schools, or big and small colleges, you can guarantee somewhere, sometime, someone will be sexually abused.

I am not saying that all police, teachers, priests, high-up people are bad. What I am saying, is to some, the “I can get by with it and I need to quench my personal needs” approach is being more observed.

So much for the mental and physical damages occurring to those taken advantage of; the person doing the damage has lost their mind in the name game,”ME FIRST”.

It is just sick, the world is getting the SATAN SICKNESS and what’s worse, is some are helping to cover up the crime. Like I said earlier, who are our young people to turn to when they need to confide in someone? Who? Who can we trust anymore?
