Gifted With a Brand New Award

Maria from Stockholm, Sweden gifted me with an award this morning. It is called the Real Neat Blog Award.

https://mariadesuede.wordpress.com/

Maria held the Blog of the Year in 2012. She is also a photographer. She is also a painter. Thank-you very much Maria for the award.

real-neat-blog-awardI looked at some of the things that are required for accepting this award. I don’t understand Swedish; but did manage to make out some of her questions.

1. Do I get many visitors?

In nature, I get many. I don’t get many  people visitors, but when I do, I welcome them with open arms.

2. What is my favorite sport?

Bowling, is something I love to do. Photography is a sport in itself. Writing books and blogging are something else I enjoy.

3.What has been a special moment thus far in 2015?

I loved, loved going to the Cheesecake Factory in Nashville, Tn. I loved being able to see my daughter and her family so much. I loved seeing my grandchildren when I returned.

4. What is my favorite quote?

Do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

5. What was my favorite class when I was still in school?

Biology and choir

6. Anything I wished to have learned earlier in life?

Yes, that each person deserves respect. Each  person has their own unique personality. Life does not run on clicks. You aren’t loved by what clubs you belong to or how much money you have or don’t have.

7. What musical instrument have I tried?

I  play the piano

Now it is with great pleasure that I nominate

Thank-You for the Award, Johanne

https://momwhearingloss.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/versatile-blogger/.  Johanne has been kind enough to give me an award called the Versatile Blogger Award. Johanne is a wonderful person and has been a blogging friend of mine for quite a long time.

Here is a part of who this awesome lady is. To read more about her post, I suggest you go to her link I provided above and pay her a visit.

My name is Johanne and I am  a mother of two beautiful boys and blessed to be married to someone I love very much.   I work full-time as an office manager and as time permits I dabble in photography, writing, thrifting, garage sale hunting and vintage shopping.    My husband and I are very busy managing our time with the many activities of a busy family life.   I have a profound hearing loss which renders me essentially deaf, however, the disability makes life interesting and at times challenging but my deafness also adds humour making it easy to laugh at myself.  I find pleasure in the most simplest things in life;  the smell of flowers, the laughter of my children, the smell of a brand new puppy or the sight of a glorious rainbow after a shower.  Hopefully, this blog will give me the freedom and creativity to jot down the many random thoughts that go through my head on a daily basis and share the many simple pleasures that make me smile.

I am supposed to tell you 10 random things about me but most of you know pretty much all there is to know; but for those newer followers I will admit to a few things.

1. I do my craziest thinking while sitting on the toilet. Some of my best stories that you seem to like are while I am in the lady’s room, lol

2. I used to not go out of the house without hair done and make-up on. Now that I am peaking to Senior Citizen years, I can refer to the saying from the classic movie, Gone with the Wind, frankly,, my dear, I don’t give a damn.  I guess I am not out to impress anyone with my looks. You either like me or not.

3. I love to write poetry. I am in the process of putting all my written poems into a book to publish.

4. I have written and published 2 books.  A. Dahlia   ,   B.  Al his life and MSA.

5. I can be pretty quiet at times, but get me with a good group of people and I can laugh til I pee my pants.

I would like to nominate a very dear friend of mine. Marilyn is a gifted artist and works with challenged adults. At this time in her life she is facing new challenges. She is strong and for this reason, I want her to have this award.

http://hrexach.wordpress.com  Dr. Rex has nominated me for an award. One that I have never heard of but when I read about it I started thinking about Al and his life.

The award is called the Seed of Light award.

seed-of-light-award11I began to instantly look back at the seed that began to live on May 3rd, 1955. On that day a baby boy was born. I have no photos of what he looked like when he was a baby so I have always used my imagination.

One baby boy born into innocence. One baby boy tossed aside for being mentally challenged. How does a child grow up in a world when he has been kicked by a term other than normal.

It doesn’t matter what the story was, or who said what, or even how it began. What matters is how he learned, what he learned and what did he take with him when he died from this earth.

I don’t look back, well not much, at our past. Ours was not a pretty one, but I am sure there are other children who had worse beginnings than ours. What I look at is what did he do while I cared for him those seven last years of his life. How did he and I react together? Was I able to prove to him in some small way that he was worthy of receiving love as a human being deserves.

I believe in my heart I did my very best. On his death bed as he told me he loved me for the first time I smiled. My heart burst with joy. He had said the words. I always thought he loved me but never quite knew for sure.

A seed, a precious seed, which seemed wilted for so long, finally took root and with proper love and support grew to be a tall stem with many colorful flowers.flower blooming When God saw the work was finished he told Al, “You finished the job. You went from a seed in the dirt to a beautiful rose. Now it is time to come home.”

Thank-you so much Dr. Rex for this beautiful and thoughtful award.

The Cloak of Dawn Award

The Cloak of Dawn Award

I believe that of all the awards I have ever received none have ever brought tears to me like this one did.

http://hrexach.wordpress.com is who presented this outstanding award to me. This award is for those who care for others. It touched my heart deeply. With my brother Al and the passing of his life into heaven only two weeks ago, my emotions are once again touched by this award.

Oh how I miss my brother. I still stand in the door way of his room and cry as I see the empty space where his bed once stood. I can vision so clearly everything I did in caring for him. Reading the Bible to him at nights. Praying with him. Giving him sips of water. Holding his hand while he took his last breath.

I know he is so much better off today but I am human. My heart is still fragile.

Dr. Rex is a wonderful person. Giving her time to help others in need. She has touched my life so many times with comforting words. She has stood by me through all of my blogging as so many others have also done.

Thank-you Dr. Rex for thinking and honoring me with this award.

The idea behind this award: We all know bloggers that write about the issues in this world be it animal abuse, child abuse, equality, their family, love, friendship, the love of whatever deity they worship and so on. We also know many blogger that besides blogging has to take care of a loved one because they are sick, have a disability or are otherwise not able to do everything by themselves. For these bloggers I created this award. The award is named in the spirit of a voluntary care giver and mother that does not blog herself and therefore can not receive the award herself .

Why a cloak? Well, in Dutch we call a voluntary caregiver (as described above) a “mantel zorger” which translates literal to “cloak carer” hence the cloak and the Rod of Aesculapius.

This award has some special rules due to its intend. Whereas most awards are shared after you have gotten it yourself, this award will be free to hand out at each and everyone’s own discretion BUT you must make sure that the intend of the award is upheld.

cloak of dawn awardThere is a blogger that I have thought highly of for a very long time. She has the biggest heart. She gives to so many and when she writes, people read each word. I would like to nominate

has nominated me for the Wonderful Team Award. Thank-you so much Elaine.

Do you know my friend? Well, if you do not please take the time to look at her website. She makes lovely jewelry. Here is a little bit about her. Please stop in and say hello.

Elaine says:

I live near Cambridge in England and only started blogging to support someone else. I love it, I don’t know why, perhaps I can share that with you when I work it out. Perhaps (more likely) you can tell me?

I live with my husband and three children. (One joined the family by stealth.) The girls are at University now, but you can tell they still live here by the amount of ‘stuff’ left lying around.

I work in a library, which I love and my hobby is making jewellery – maybe I’ll post pictures sometime – especially beaded necklaces and especially working with crystals. I love anything sparkly.

I’m not tidy or organised and my life is chaotic. Happy days.

I was given another award by Billie. The address is;

willeke73.wordpress.com

The award is the Sunshine Award.

Do you know Billie? Once again I urge you to check out her blog. She is humorous, smart and says it like it is.

Here is a little piece of what Billie says about herself.

Life with multiple sclerosis is quite often an uphill battle, but I do not let it bring me down. Eight years after my diagnosis and 3.5 years after retiring from work I have found a schedule, a system, a way of living that suits me well. Main symptoms are fairly the same from 2004/2005, so steep decline has not emerged. I refuse to write “not emerged yet,” because I have time, the pharmaceutical world and holistic therapies at my side. Adapting to severe fatigue still is somewhat of a war between my head and the rest of me but grace to a great bed, lots of free time and understanding friends and family, I can rest and relax as much as I need.

The Loyal Reader Award

Tersia over at; http://tersiaburger.com

has nominated me for the Loyal Reader Award.loyal-reader-award

Isn’t it cute? So colorful, I love it.

Tersia is a wonderful friend and blogger. The first time I met her I wanted to become her friend.

You will not want to stop where I have ended. You will want to get to know Tersia, and see the love that is in her heart. You will want to continue to read her story.

Here is a bit of her life;

For a long time after Vic had breathed her last breath I lay next to her.  I touched her face and hugged her close to me.  Something I could not do in life as I may have fractured a bone or two.  Everybody left me alone with Vic.  I was so grateful for that precious time with my angel child.

I washed Vic and dressed her in her favourite pyjamas.  It was so difficult trying to dress her limp body.  Although I knew it did not matter anymore I was scared I would hurt her.  Years of conditioning I suppose.  I was shocked to see that a large part of her body had already discoloured.  Her right hand shoulder, her back and the top of her legs were black and blue.  When I washed her little body at 7am that morning, a mere 3.5 hours earlier, only her little toes had started discolouring… Her back was still so warm from the fever that had racked her body.  Her hands, feet and face were cold to the touch.

The rules are simple, because simple is good.

1. Display the award on your blog.

2. Thank the person who sent it to you.

3. Answer a rhetorical question of the authors choosing.

4. Send on the award to everyone you consider a loyal reader.

Rhetorical Question:

If you were on a deserted island, how would you survive? This is an easy question for me as there really was no thinking involved. God would help me survive. He would make sure all of my needs were met.
