valentineMY VALENTINE

Seasons have passed by

I still wipe my eyes

My memories fresh

When I look at the dress

The one I wore

When you opened the door

Your eyes got big

Bigger than a rig

You walked towards me

Wanting to see

But instead you fell

Over Billy’s pail

I gasped and said

Are you okay dear Fred?

You stood up and shook

You threw a book

It landed on

A playing song

Domino effect took over

Almost killing Rover

I couldn’t help giggle

As you stood and wiggled

Trying to sustain a face

That was white as paste

The mood was gone

Silence replaced the song

We stared at the room

Now dressed in gloom

Then reaching out

We both showed pouts

We sat on the bed

Leaning head to head

Then giggles came

There was no shame

I will never forget that kiss

The chaos, the bliss

Of that Valentine’s Day

Or the way it played.

The Red Mask

The Red Mask

Hiding behind the mask                                                                     mask

Holding on for so long

I look back and see myself

Reflections of who used to be

Wanting to come forth

Yet afraid to see

Where I have walked

And my prints from yore

From the glass of the mirror

I see your eyes on mine

You…

The Red Mask

The Red Mask

Hiding behind the mask                                                                     mask

Holding on for so long

I look back and see myself

Reflections of who used to be

Wanting to come forth

Yet afraid to see

Where I have walked

And my prints from yore

From the glass of the mirror

I see your eyes on mine

You hold your hand out to me

I take a step in faith

You touch my cheek

You bend down

And graze my lips

I feel ice melting

As feelings come renewed

I can feel, and I taste

What life has once again to offer

I am alive and I toss

The mask aside.

I Can See Nothing

When  you see lips pouting

Do you think of me

If you see wisps of blonde hair

Do you remember mine

When you see  tears fall

Does it stir your heart

When you lay next to her

Am I in your mind

When the clock chimes midnight

Are you remembering when  you were here

I wanted a commitment

And this word made you shake

You ran the other direction

And I was forced to move on

Now when I look back

I can see nothing.
