I hate when I use the phone and I get those stupid recordings.
I hate busy signals on the phone.
I love the sounds of birds.
I love taking photographs.
I love Joyce Meyers.
I absolutely love Dr. Charles Stanley.
There is a huge difference when I am doing what I love in life. My step is higher and lighter. My smiles are back. I look forward to the next day. When I am surrounded by sickness and sad things or things that irritate me, I get tired easily. I get irritable. I want to sleep all the time. Life is not always worth looking at the next moment.

What have you been putting off doing? Why?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us TIME.
Oh this is an easy one for my eyes to rest on. The problem is action. Actions speak louder than words. Have you ever heard of that? I used to say it often when my kids were younger. You can still catch me using that phrase today.
A lot of you know me pretty well by now. So you realize on this Sunday morning when Al is napping I want to desperately get off this chair, push it close to the desk so the space to squeeze in, even a mouse would stand back and rub his whiskers wondering if he could do it.
I want to clean. I am procrastinating against cleaning. You ask what? Oh my gosh! She doesn’t want to clean?
I made a deal with myself this morning. I was going to actually sit down with Al while he ate. I was going to watch the Dr. Charles Stanley show with him. I did these two things. I didn’t even clean the cat box right a way. What’s one more turd to the pile? Really, it can wait, and I am not even wearing that clothes pin over my nose yet.
I did clean his bathroom, but how could I not. I cleaned his body from over night accidents.
Hey, I am still in my night-gown, does that tell you anything?
I will get around to it today, just not yet. I am not going to be in a hurry. I realize it will be waiting for me any old-time.
I told myself, relax, just do it, it’s Sunday!

Update on Al
I wanted to let you know that this morning when I got Al up he struggled. In fact he has struggled all day. It is as if his brain isn’t connecting to anything he wants to do. This includes eating, lifting his arm to his lips, standing, holding his head up. Sleeping restfully, sitting up, lifting his feet.
Although I am very thankful that we have only had to add one extra medication today, and out of what he can not do today, he could smile at me. He could eat with my help. He could drink with my help. He could stand with my help.
His attitude was very quiet most of the day. He slept quite a bit, but there was not the terrible misery that was there yesterday.
All the prayers were heard and healing of spirits were transferred right into our house and into Al’s body. God is good.
An hour before supper he wanted to listen to his audio cassettes. They were a gift to him from the minister at Hospice. He listens to one side at a time with his head hung and his eyes closed, but I know that deep inside of him he is listening.
I have to add here that with Al’s mentally challenged mind he knows that he went to church and Sunday school on Sundays. So the only day he will listen to these cassettes is on Sundays. Most of us would find that a bit odd, but I get it, because I understand how Al thinks.
He wanted to listen to Dr. Charles Stanley during supper so I turned it on. It was on the topic of trusting God. Al began to get teary-eyed a little bit. He just hates making a mess on the floor with his food. He gets so embarrassed when he can’t eat properly, that sometimes he will cry and curse his illness.
I used to tell him to stop talking like that but I don’t any longer. I let him vent and then I explain once again that the illness has no mind or brain and that Al has no reason to feel guilty for having this.
He was almost done eating and he looked at me with these big tear drops in his eyes. I asked, “what is it bud? I told you not to worry about the food on the floor. It helps my waist line getting down there and cleaning it up.”
He said, ” Mr. Stanley said that if you trust God he will always hear your prayers and answer them.”
“Yes, all we have to do is believe in him and keep him close to us.”
” Then I must not trust him enough, because he won’t get rid of this stupid sickness.”
“Well bud, you just tell God that you are tired and he will know what to do.”
I got up from the table and went to my bathroom and wiped my tears and blew my nose. http://youtu.be/EeeZr6uIHj4

Building Muscles of Faith
“I wish I had great faith.” These are words that almost every Christian has said at one time or another. But faith is like a muscle, which must be exercised in order to become strong; just wishing cannot make it happen.
Christians are to believe God, not only for salvation but for everything. Rather than a spiritual “plateau,” faith is actually a process that involves increasing degrees of trust throughout life. Little faith hopes that God will do what He says; strong faith knows that He will; and great faith believes that He has already done it.
Elijah was a man of great faith. He saw increased challenges as opportunities for God to do His work—and the prophet believed Him for the supernatural. So can you. The Lord may not do every miraculous thing you ask of Him, but He does some extraordinary work in and through each person who is obedient and willing to trust in Him.
You may be thinking, I am not good enough for the Father to use me. The Scriptures are filled with examples of weak and flawed people whom the Lord used to achieve His purposes. He is looking, not for perfection, but for individuals willing to believe Him. He not only works through people of faith; He transforms them.
Start by reading God’s Word to learn what He wants you to do. Each day’s situations and needs are opportunities to trust Him. Ask the Lord to bring to mind verses that apply to your circumstances. Trust Him and do what He says—your faith “muscles” will grow, and He will be glorified.

I never think I am strong enough or good enough for God to use. I know many others, including blogger friends, that have faith much stronger than mine. I am sometimes found stressing out, that I wish I was better, or spent more of my mind on God, or my eyes in the word. I talk to Jesus quite a bit, but to sit in a quiet space with no interruptions and just read his word, is difficult. Even reading the best book on the market, is a slow process. This daily walk with Dr. Charles Stanley, does assure me that even though I am not the best, I am still worthy.
Sunshine Award
Stacie over at
awarded me for the Sunshine Award.
Thank you very much Stacie. I always thought the flower representing sunshine was such a positive symbol for a bright, sunny day.
Here is what Stacie says about herself:
I am married to a wonderful guy and the mother of 2 wonderful boys. I live in the best part of Southern Louisiana. I love reading, riding my bike with my family, well I love to do anything with my family. Just like most people I live in a crazy, non-stop world that is mostly caused by my children. I wouldn’t change any of it….
I have had Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue for 10+ years, among other conditions such as Candida. My purpose of this blog is for a release and is very personal. I am not in any way a writer. I’ve just always been better at putting my feelings on paper then with words. Please feel free to ask any questions or leave a comment. I’m from the South, we love to talk…….. and GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
The rules are to place credit to the one who nominated you.
Tell a few things about yourself.
Nominate a few others.
If you have read my other blog I posted earlier today, you will realize that I love antiques!
On Sundays I watch Joyce Meyers, Dr. Charles Stanley, and in off times, I listen to the oldie shows, such as what is playing in my ear right now, The Brady Bunch. I am still a kid at heart, or else, I refuse to move forth to violence in today’s programming.
I am a thinker. I don’t know what the legal term is for that, but my mind is always thinking about someone or something I can do to change things about my life.

Dr. Charles Stanley Says
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These days, there are plenty of reasons to fear. Our world seems to be in a continuous state of war and crisis. The jobs market is dismal, natural disasters wreak havoc, and stories of crime dominate the headlines. As Christians, we know that fear should have no place in our lives, but how can we ignore what’s going on around us?
Basically, there are two paths you can walk: faith or fear. It’s impossible to simultaneously trust God and not trust God. Another way of saying this is that you cannot both obey and disobey Him–partial obedience is disobedience. So, which road are you traveling?
Some people who read the Bible and believe in God nevertheless choose to live with fear. Seeing others experience hardship, they start wondering if it could happen to them: Someone at my office lost his job; will I be next? Someone died in an accident–I could die too. But this kind
of “logic” places your circumstances above your relationship to God.
If Satan can get you to think like this, he has won the battle for your mind. But when you focus on God rather than your circumstances, whatever the situation is, you win. The Bible tells us, “God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline” (2 Tim. 1:7).
Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear, and doubt. He is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all of our needs. When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life, I found that my worrying stopped.

Dr. Charles Knew I Needed This

Handling Difficult Circumstances
The apostle Paul understood how to handle tough circumstances. Even while he was confined in a prison cell, he kept his eyes on Christ and trusted firmly in the Savior. Therefore, despite being in chains, he was able to celebrate the Lord’s work in his life. In fact, the epistle he wrote from jail to the Philippians was filled with rejoicing (1:18; 2:18; 3:1).
Focusing on Christ is neither a natural reaction nor an easy one. Our instinct is to dwell on the situation at hand, searching for solutions or stewing over the pain and difficulty. As a result, troubles look scary and overwhelm us with a sense of defeat.
However, fear and defeat cannot live long in a heart that trusts the Lord. I’m not saying you’ll forget what you’re going through, but you can choose to dwell on His provision and care instead. He is the Deliverer (2 Cor. 1:10). He is the Healer (Deut. 32:39). He is the Guide (Prov. 3:6). The believer who lays claim to divine promises discovers that God pushes back negative emotions. In their place, hope, confidence, and contentment take up residence (Phil. 4:11). You aren’t going to be happy about a difficult situation, but you can be satisfied that God is in control and up to something good in the midst of trouble.
The Lord’s principles and promises don’t change, no matter how severe or painful the situation is. Focus on Christ instead of the circumstances—God will comfort your heart and bring you safely through the trial. Then you can answer Paul’s call to “rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil. 4:4).
