Tunnel Vision, The Daily Post

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/tunnel-vision/#like-89070

You’ve been given the ability to build a magical tunnel that will quickly and secretly connect your home with the location of your choice — anywhere on Earth. Where’s the other end of your tunnel?

THE TUNNEL

A house at the edge of the block

Covered by bushes and trees

A scary place to walk by at night

Can make you feel so ill at ease

And  inside lives an old woman alone

Who  cares  less about the outside view

She’s heard all the scandals and stories told

She smiles, because she always knew

That she is the only one who has

A secret place given only to her

A tunnel which brings her life  alive

Which she sees clear, not even a blur

When she feels cast out from the world

She only need walk through that door

She lets the light guide her way

To there and here for  never more

And waiting for her to say hello

With smiling faces of delight

Is all her family passed from here

And everything is finally alright.

Daily Prompt; Honorific

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/10/16/daily-prompt-honor/, DP, Daily Post

October 16th is officially declared “Person X Day” — and you get to pick Person X. Tell us about someone who deserves to be commemorated.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us HONOR.

This is almost too difficult for me to write. Why? Because I can think of many who should be commemorated. I am going to go off the top of my head, and stare down at the moments in front of me right here, today and now. This is how I will choose my list.

Betty Whitebetty, no matter how bad my day is; I look forward to her helping me to release my stress. I can guarantee she will bring me much laughter,  providing me a good night’s rest.

Maxine,Maxine she is a hoot. You have to understand that in my house a fog of death lingers, so I will steal laughter from where ever I can.

Rhino, rhino on Alvin's bed I can always guarantee a warm welcome. A fuzzy nose, a kiss on the cheek. He never argues with me. He doesn’t use hateful words to put me down. He loves me unconditionally.

God,jesus_in_heaven.jpg I can never go wrong. He is the reason I was born and still living here. I will leave this earth when I have completed the job he put me here. When no one else listens, he does. He loves me no matter how I look or sound.

These are just for today. Each day I could find new people who made my day special.

In the end though when it comes down to it, my WP friends all make a big impact on me. No, I am not trying to kiss your rear end. Honest! I am speaking the truth. If it weren’t for you who else would listen to me ramble on?

Write 500 words on any topic you like. Now remove 250 of them without changing the essence of your post.

Wow, I can not imagine how this is going to turn out, with so many words being removed. What have I got to lose? I may as well give it a shot.

Something I am interested in was easy. My hobbies are antiques and slavery. I will choose antiques to speak about. I used to go to auctions and yard sales and buy up the cheap stuff, no one else wanted. If it was not in need of much repair, I would fix it. Mainly though I would take off the old finish, and give it a brand new look. Everything that I did stayed natural, putting a thin coating over the wood to protect it from water damages.

I would sell pieces through other auctions or at my home, until I had collected enough extras to open my first store. I loved it, and still do. I also collect black memorabilia. I hope that I can have one authentic black baby doll, before I go to see the Lord.  I just bought my first Sambo cookie jar. I was like a kid in the candy store, when I brought that piece home. It sits beside my authentic Aunt Jemima salt and pepper shakers.

I love costume jewelry! Clear, colored, gaudy, but please no plastic. One blogger from another state sent me a piece this summer, I was ecstatic! It was beautiful.

Thank-you Daily Post for giving me a chance to write for you.
