The funeral is over. I didn’t fall apart but it was very hard. I have not had to be alone, which has saved my sanity. I am going to leave tomorrow with my daughter and her family. Just a little vacation to say, so maybe when I come back I can once again open Al’s bedroom. Now I can not bare to go in there.
It was a very nice service, not too many people but not too little. We went to the cemetery and it was very cold and windy with huge snow flakes. We then went back to the church and there was a dinner provided for us.
Here are a few photos of Al’s flowers.
I was not on here for quite a while… I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you have ben through so much.

Such lovely flowers, Terry. I’ve thought of you often today, in the middle of a seminar I attended for CEU’s. Prayed for you, and I’m glad you’re going to spend time with your daughter.

terry so sorry to hear about Al – as hard as it may seem, he is now out of pain and at peace. you will heal in your own time. glad you’re getting some “me” time as you have been thru a very long struggle yourself. I’m sure it will be strange not having Al there but he will always be there in spirit.

The flowers are lovely. It will be good for you to get away for a time. It was a long battle bravely fought by both of you. I’m glad Al is at peace. Now he can watch over you from heaven. God received a very brave and special soul when Al entered the gates. Love to you,

Death comes..and we can not fight it. We may have many reasons to deny ..but we know it has come to take away..the one we cherish. Al is gone..and free from pain.
You have lost him. I lost my friend..when she died..I felt sad..and I could hear her calling my name..in her own style..I still miss her ..I remember her smile..I hope your memories will Al be your companion..for no one can take that away. Sorrows come..but life has a tomorrow . Take care.

Good to hear that you will be with your daughter & her family for a bit. Take it easy & enjoy their presence.
It probably still won’t be easy when you return. But – know that your dear brother is now in peace & no longer suffering in pain.
One day at a time…
