It is almost upon us. The day we look forward to all year-long. A day spent with family and friends. Eating those specially prepared foods our mouths haven’t lingered on for 365 days.
Not everyone will be able to take part of this feast, and for this, it is very sad. I want you to do two things for me since you are taking the time to read this. One, I want you to tell me how you spend your Thanksgiving Day and what you like most and what you don’t like most about it.
Two, please pray for the people less fortunate. They are everywhere. Your neighbors, friends, the lonely, the ones who have lost family and friends. Pray that we each get through this holiday. Pray that no one is forgotten. Pray for comfort and health, just pray.
It is right… one day seems hardly adequate, we don’t celebrate it here in England nor Germany. In England the turkey comes at Christmas….

This year, like last year, I will be alone at Thanksgiving. I live nearly 10,000 miles from family and my Companion will be working out of the city on that day. So, I won’t cook a turkey, make dressing, cranberry salad, mashed potatoes and all the trimmings. Most likely, I’ll just have a sandwich and try to focus on what I’m thankful for rather than the fact that no one is here with me. I hope yours will be much better, surrounded by friends and family. We all have a great deal to be thankful for, not only on this day, but every day of the year. Happy Thanksgiving Terry!

I feel sad at heart that you will be alone. Can you and your companion celebrate on a different day when he you are both home? I am very thankful for my family, I admit. I must say Happy Thanksgiving to you. You will be thought of as you grab that sandwich

I am very thankful and fortunate to be near two of my three kids and their families. We gather together at one of their homes and enjoy each other and, of course eat, a lot. My boys love to cook.
This is a lovely post, Terry, and reminds us all to be thankful and praying.
Have a great week,
cate

interesting question terry:) what i like most is being with family and just the warm feeling i get knowing that we will all be together and we all know how fortunate we are for this time. we look forward to it with great joy. my step-daughter has already been calling to ask about us and whether or not we will be able to make it. she and my son-in-law do all they can to accommodate my health issues.
as someone who was living in poverty and hated the holidays i can truly appreciate how fortunate i am now. sometimes it seems like a dream. i will never forget those that are not as fortunate. each year we donate to the local agency that will feed as many as possible on this special day.
one of the things i will be grateful for is the friendship i have with my blogger friends like you!

I always felt a special connection with you and your comment is the biggest reason why. You are a beautiful soul and lady my dear friend. You enjoy your Thanksgiving this year, as will I. It will be different without Al but I will concentrate harder on the family I will be with. Love and hugs
