Multiple System Atrophy, The Hell Disease

March is Multiple System Atrophy Awareness month. Many of you already know my brother, Al, struggled on a daily basis with M.S.A. for seven long years. It was the most wicked and horrible disease I had ever seen in my 25 years of working in nursing.

I wanted to post this to remind each of you to appreciate those in your life. You just never know when something dramatic like a terminal illness will come knocking at your or their door.

If you have been thinking about making an important donation to a group, please consider M.S.A. Do it in the name of my brother, Al. He will be gone 2 years the 24th of this month. I will even provide you the link. If you choose to do this, I will be thanking you forever. Let me know, so I can give you a big hug.

March

It’s March today. Does it feel any different from yesterday? No, you are right, but our mindset changes. We lean towards Spring and turn our backs on winter. We used to delight in the falling of fresh snow. Now, we whine, wondering if it is the last of the season.

With Spring comes warmer weather, threats of tornadoes, rain and high winds. To me, it is like God letting the atmosphere take over. The earth is being cleaned from the winter and clearing the debris for beautiful flowers to arise once again through thawed ground.

Before we know it, temperatures change, warming our cheeks and hair. We find ourselves smiling more, getting outdoors, and looking for our shorts and T’s to put on. Away with the old and on to the new.

March, a new song

Filled with hope

Let heat bills rest

Let our skin soften

Let love visit

Winter is almost gone

Time to wake-up my friends.

Don’t You Wish

DON’T YOU WISH

Don’t you wish

You could stop

Life in action

Halting it in a

Good place

Not going back

Not wanting to

Look forward

Keeping those

Good feelings

Right where they are?

Instead, life moves on

Whether we want

It to or not

Disappointments,

Sadness,

Unexpected happenings

Keep life ever changing

And we must adjust.
