GOODBYE SUMMER

GOODBYE SUMMER

The air is beginning to change

The crickets loud and clear

The leaves have less color of green

We can tell fall is far too near.

The air seems to hover

A thick fog in the morning light

School buses in bright yellow

Children screaming in loud delight.

Vacations are over

The beaches close

Birds fly south

Allergies leave my nose.

Halloween comes to mind

Decorations galore

Costumes to make or buy

Buying candy from the store.

Thanksgiving to follow

Christmas Day on the way

An excitement builds within us

As summer strays to yesterdays.
