Autumn Leaves
Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes: do these mainstays of Fall fill your heart with warmth — or with dread?
PUMPKINS AND SUCH
The summer heat is gone
The furnace on
The winds doeth blow
For jackets we go
Campfires heat
Marshmallows we eat
Crisp leaves fall slowly down
Almost covering all ground
Jack-O-Lanterns glow
And the children know
Trick-or-treating is near
Time for costumes and gear
Smell of pumpkin pies
Tearful memories in eyes
Saying grace, holding hands
Families gather in grand
Summer has gone
Time to sing a new song
Let us enjoy this new day
And soon Spring will be on its way.
